Drs. Verstegen completed his medical degree at Amsterdam University (UvA) and completed his neurosurgery training at AMC Amsterdam. From 2005 until 2006 he was head of the department at the Neurosurgery Center in Tilburg. Since 2006 he works at LUMC in Leiden and is specialised in endoscopic pituitary surgery.
